Home FAQs How many crew members?
How many crew members?

On station we have 230 volunteers directly involved including:

  • Boat and Shore Crew
  • Shop Staff
  • Guild members
  • Fund-raisers
  • Administration
  • and Committee members

Each of them a vital link in the chain to keep the station, it's boats and supporters 'Ready for Action'.

We have 26 Boat Crew on station and 6 dedicated Shore Crew with countless extras to assist.

Out of those, 7 crew would normally man the offshore lifeboat on a shout and 3 crew in the inshore lifeboat with 2 shore crew to assist with the launches.
When the pagers 'go off' everyone available gets to the station as soon and as safely as they can to man the lifeboats!

New volunteers are always welcome to come along and join us in one of the many roles available, so if you are interested why not come and introduce yourself, Sunday mornings would be a good time to visit!
