Offshore lifeboat launched at 17:05 this evening to a vessel on fire.

Cromer lifeboat Lester  this evening launched to go to the aid of a yacht, with a fire on board, approximately 37nm East of Cromer.

All other vessels in the area were requested to give assistance if possible. At 17:35 the lifeboat was stood down by HM Coastguard as the casualty has been taken off the stricken vessel by a vessel in the area and the boat was not considered safe to tow back to shore.

The lifeboat returned to the boathouse at approximately 18:05 hrs and was washed down, refuelled and made ready for service.
