D-class lifeboat paged at 21:04 for launch

After reports of a person in the water near the pier the Coastguard request the assistance of the inshore lifeboat George and Muriel

As it was unclear if the casualty was already ashore or not, the crew was put on standby.

The incident was being handled by the Police with local Coastguards in attendance on the pier forecourt.

At 21:40 the ILB and crew were stood down as the casualty was ashore and would be transferred to hospital for checks.
