Crew pagers sound for ILB launch at 23:04

The IB1 George and Muriel launched shortly after 23:10 this evening to proceed with a local area search.

Information had been received that a vulnerable person may be in need of assistance, in or near the sea.

Working with Yarmouth Coastguard, the Police and local Coastguard Rescue Officers, the shoreline between Cromer and Trimmingham was thoroughly searched with no one found.

Members of the shore crew carried out a search of the pier and both the east and the west promenade in Cromer.

The inshore lifeboat was stood down at approximately 12:50, as the search had moved more inland and headed back to the station.

At 01:05 the ILB had been washed down, refuelled and made ready for service.
