Cromer ALB paged to assist yacht in difficulties at 17:35 this evening.

The relief lifeboat Victor Freeman launched at 17:55 and proceeded to the scene to assess the situation.

The casualty was an 8.7m yacht SKUA approximately 250 yds east of Cromer pier and was struggling with a rope round its propeller.

At 18:30 the lifeboat attached a tow line to the yacht and proceeded towards Wells.

The tow was passed from Cromer lifeboat to Wells ILB at 21:20.

Cromer relief lifeboat turned for home at 21:30 with an ETA for the slipway of 22:15.

The lifeboat Victor Freeman returned to the slipway at 22:20 and was recovered, washed down, refuelled and made ready for service.
