Shout InfoLester launches at 08:28 to a casualty 20nm off the town.

Crew pagers sounded at 08:11 this morning to request the launch of the offshore lifeboat to go to the aid of a 35ft yacht VERUS AMICA close to Cromer Knoll.

The casualty had no engine power due to an impeller problem and was making slow progress, against the weather.

The Verus Amica with 4 people on board was from Walton-on-the-Naze in Essex, she was heading north when she ran into difficulties.

There were concerns the casualty vessel may drift into an area where boats are working on the nearby 'Sheringham Shoal' wind-farm, so the lifeboat launched at 08:28, heading out towards the casualties position.

Once the lifeboat was on scene and the situation had been evaluated, the decision was taken to tow the yacht and her crew back to Great Yarmouth to enable repairs to be carried out.

Cromer lifeboat returned to station at approximately 16:20 and was washed down, refuelled and made ready for service.
