Called away during display!

'Ruby and Arthur Reed II' was attending Happisburghs lifeboat day, taking part in the display by going to the aid of a speedboat with fire hose in action and was in the process of towing the boat in, when at 15:15 Gt Yarmouth Coastguard contacted the crew on the radio and asked that Cromer lifeboat proceed immediately back towards Cromer.

Reports had been recieved, from a lifeguard on the beach, about an object floating in the water approx. 3/4 of a mile North East of the East beach.

On arrival on scene the crew on the lifeboat found a black bin bag containing rubbish just off Cromer Lighthouse. After contacting the coastguard to inform them the bag was recovered, the lifeboat then headed back to station.
