A member of the public had contacted Gt. Yarmouth Coastguard shortly after 18:00 reporting that he was in difficulties!

The stations Lifeboat Operations Manager was just yards away when he received the alert from the Coastguard requesting that the ILB be launched.

Quickly realising there was no one in the water at the reported location the L. O. M. proceeded to the beach where the body boarder was already safely ashore.

The Coastguard stood down the Lifeboat crew at 18:10
