A Successful Open Morning
Half Term and glorious weather combined to ensure a record turnout for the Open Morning on 23rd October 2011.
Over 1500 eager visitors queued up patiently to step aboard the Tamar Class lifeboat Lester and take a look at the boat at close quarters.
Crew members were on hand to show them around and answer questions, some of which tested even the most experienced crews knowledge.
Members of the Ladies Guild kept everyone fed and watered with tasty cakes and hot drinks, and a raffle raised further funds for the RNLI.
What wasn't so well known at the time was that BBC Radio Norfolk Treasure Quest were due to visit the boathouse as the treasure was under the charts on board the boat.
Alas, Becky Betts didn't get here in time, though Richard Leeds spoke on air about the work we do and even managed to send good wishes down the airwaves to a crew member who unfortunately found himself in the N&N hospital and was unable to attend.
All in all a good time was had by all and it was rewarding to let our supporters see just what their kind donations go towards.
