Cromer's Tamar lifeboat RNLB Lester launched to the sound of 2 maroons fired from the end of pier boathouse at 14:42 this afternoon to go to the aid of the catamaran LEYLA with a rope around her propeller, just off Overstrand.

The lifeboat passed a tow and headed with the casualty towards Lowestoft.

Returning to the pier at 23:25 the lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and made ready for service by 00:15.
