Cromer ALB was paged to launch on service today at 15:03

Cromer offshore lifeboat launched this afternoon at 15:10 to assist the yacht SURPRISE anchored off the town that had suffered engine failure.

15:14 Lifeboat on scene with casualty vessel alongside to assess the situation.Two crew members were put aboard the casualty to investigate the problem and were able to fit an alternator belt and start the engine.

15:44 The lifeboat is escorting the yacht SURPRISE to the West.

16:50 With the casualty well on her way just off Salthouse and with no apparent overheating problems the lifeboat turned around and started heading for home.

17:45 The RNLB Lester is now rehoused, refuelled and ready for service.
