Crew pagers sound in the early hours for a service launch

At 02:18 this morning the crew assembled to launch the offshore lifeboat to a fishing vessel in difficulties.

The Tamar lifeboat RNLB Lester launched from the slipway at 02:31 and headed out towards the Haisboro sands to the vessel ICENI that had suffered power failure.

Arriving on scene the crew attached a line to the ICENI and began towing her towards Lowestoft at 03:27 travelling at approximately 9 knots.
