Station Visits
RNLI Cromer: Explore Station
As an Explore station we offer a great visitor experience. Access to the station is free and you are welcome to come in and have a look, to learn more about our station and see our Tamar class lifeboat 'RNLB Lester’ . We are open all year (subject to operational requirements) and have an RNLI gift shop.
(As this is an operational station we unfortunately do not have disabled access to the viewing gallery)
We are also fortunate at Cromer to have a team of volunteers who can accommodate tours from larger parties such as schools, scout groups, families and community groups. We have a maximum group number of 25, but larger groups can be accommodated by being split into several smaller tour groups.
A tour of the station can consist of a look round the crew areas of the station, a sea safety talk, facts about the RNLI, a video, a question and answer session, meeting some crew and the opportunity to dress up in crew kits. The Visits Team will tailor the tour to the age and requirements of the group. Tours normally last between 30 minutes to 1 hour and are available mornings, afternoons and evenings, subject to the availability of the volunteers. There is no charge for tours but a donation to the RNLI would be appreciated.
This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the vital work of the RNLI.
We look forward to welcoming you to our station and hope you enjoy your visit.
